General Information
The 17th European Conference on Turbomachinery Fluid Dynamics and Thermodynamics (ETC17) will be held in Gdańsk, Poland, from April 19 to April 23, 2027. The conference covers, from a scientific and engineering perspective, the fluid dynamics and thermodynamics of turbomachinery, as well as turbomachinery-based propulsion systems and power systems.
Organizers
For this edition, the conference is hosted and organized by the Gdańsk University of Technology and Institute of Fluid-Flow Machinery of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
Both institutions are located directly at the conference venue on the campus in the Wrzeszcz district.

What to see
Gdańsk is the capital of the Pomeranian Voivodeship, located at the mouth of the Motława River on the Baltic Sea. The city was first mentioned in 997.
Historical Significance
Gdańsk has a rich history, it was founded in 10th century and in 1361 it became a member of Hanseatic League which boosted the city’s economic, urban and demographic development. Gdańsk is associated with Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit – a physicist, inventor and a scientific instrument maker (he invented a mercury-inglass thermometer) who spent the first 14 years of his life in Gdańsk; and Johannes Hevelius – an astronomer and founder of lunar topography, a renowned brewer, councillor and mayor of Gdańsk. Gdańsk is also associated with the Solidarity movement which started the downfall of communism in Europe. Gdańsk is a city where history can be found on every step, it is full of beautiful monuments and buildings. We hope you will find some time to explore our lovely city. By the way, the oldest part of Gdańsk is called the Main Town.
